Our Story
Why We Started TBM
We were very fortunate to have people in our lives surrounding us with love and support and yet the NICU journey still rocked us. The emotional and physical exhaustion was real. We understand not everyone has access to support and so we created TBM to fill in the gaps, as well as normalize what you’re going through by hearing from people who have also been through it. We feel strongly that God led us to start this ministry and that is why we are here. We hope you find TBM to be a blessing as you navigate your NICU journey.
What We Felt… Questions We Asked…
-
The answer here is most likely nothing. Often we don’t know the cause but in some cases it may be something detected during the pregnancy that alerted you a NICU stay may be likely. Either way feeling guilty doesn’t change anything and doesn’t help you move forward. We encourage you to let go of any guilt, this is not your fault.
-
This is a tough one to answer because, obviously, we are not God and we don’t have all the answers. What we had to do was trust His plan and believe that He was going to work it all out for good. And standing on the other side of the NICU journey, we can confidently say that He has.
-
If this is your first child you will have all the unknows of being a parent compounded a million times as you aren’t just figuring out how to be a parent you are figuring out how to be a NICU parent. If you have other children at home, you’re adding another layer because your heart and mind want to be in two different places at once. Give yourself a tremendous amount of grace, neither of these situations is easy.
-
One day at a time. In our opinion and being able to look back on our 85 day NICU journey, the best way to get through it is one day at a time. Don’t get too focused on all the timeframes and the what ifs, just do what you can do every day and know that tomorrow is a new day.
HOW WE HELP
-
Educate
We remember what it was like to be thrown into a whole new world that we knew nothing about. These videos will help to give you perspective of what to expect during your stay, after your stay, while trying to answer all those questions that seem to be never ending. Our hope is that these videos will give you comfort that those things you are thinking, are completely normal.

Support
Support means something different to everyone. For us it means providing what we can to families in need. This could be anything from praying, meals during your stay, gas cards for people who live at a distance, assisting with some financial help so you can be present with your baby.
